Physical Activity

What adult activities are available?

There are lots of activities that the Health and Wellbeing team run and we can also signpost people to other activities we are aware of. Have a look at the table below for more information:

Walking for Health:

Walking for Health is a free scheme aimed at encouraging people to take up walking as a way of improving physical health and mental well-being.

It is a series of free guided walks for all ages and abilities, aimed at anyone who has an interest in walking or wants to slowly introduce exercise into their daily routine as part of rehabilitation from illness.

There are a number of weekly walks in all areas of the East Riding.

Visit the East Riding Leisure Centres page for more information.

Active Coast activities:

Active Coast is about providing opportunities to get active, be healthy and enjoy life on the East Yorkshire coast. A main feature of Active Coast is the exciting Beach Sports programme which includes a vibrant beach volleyball scene with four semi-permanent Go Spike courts free to use. Check out what’s on and hit the beach!

Please go to the Active Coast page on the Visit Hull & East Riding (VHEY) website.

Healthy Lifestyle programmes:

All East Riding Leisure Centres offer a range of healthy lifestyle programmes, some are aimed at people with a variety of medical problems such as Live Well and Exercise Referral.

Visit the  East Riding Leisure Centres page for more information.

Parkrun:

It offers the opportunity for the local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the beautiful grounds and get more active into the bargain!
